Its March 5th and Lake Erie is still about 96% frozen. I am hoping and praying that warm spring weather hits Western NY very soon. I am told by ice fishermen that the ice is not nearly as thick as it was last year at this time, 40 plus inches in some areas. I am cautiously optimistic that we will be on the water catching big smallmouth bass but the 2nd week of May. A lot of prayer won’t hurt either.
